Exam Location: Addie’s Place, the private room above The Wine House (Los Angeles).
IMPORTANT: Proof of vaccination or negative Covid-19 test from previous 48 hours required for in-person examination and masks are required.
Online exam available for $90. Online exam with remote proctoring (invigilation) requires two devices: a PC/Mac/Linux device to take the exam on and a mobile device for recording the exam room. Please let us know when registering for the course if you require an online exam.
This Level 1 Award in Wines is a 4-week, 7 module online learning program with educator support available during the course. The course modules should be followed in order, but students are free to complete the modules at their own pace during this 4-week window. The course material should take about 6 hours in total to complete, plus revision time. Regular access and participation in the course online activities is essential for this mode of study.
The course prepares the student for WSET qualifications and they are guided by a WSET online educator. Students can contact the educator any time for the duration of the scheduled course, should they have any questions. Each module includes a series of independent activities to help students understand the differences between grape varieties and types and styles of wine.
Students are advised to taste a range of wines during their studies and upon registration, students will be recommended wines to taste. Students can post their tasting notes in the Online Classroom for review by the educator.
Online study materials will be sent to the student’s email address between October 25 and 31 by the WSET. Students will be automatically registered to take the in-person exam on Tuesday, November 30.

COVID-19 UPDATE
Best practices will be followed. All surfaces that attendees might touch will be disinfected prior to each class. We will follow state and local guidelines for social distancing and mask wearing. Attendees are also expected to wash or sanitize their hands and stay home if sick. Our ability to hold these classes and exams remains dependent on the guidelines for the staged re-opening of California/Los Angeles County.
CANCELLATIONS: Because student information will be submitted to the WSET, cancellations are only accepted for this class until Saturday, October 23, and all bookings are final after that. There can be no refunds after the student’s registration is submitted to the WSET.
