The Wine House is delighted to partner with Dalla Terra (Italian Winery Direct Importer) to present a six-part educational series covering Italy’s most important wine regions – including well-known favorites as well as the most exciting up-and-coming areas. The course will take place once a month on the 2nd Monday of the month. Participants will journey across Italy learning about historical events and outside influences, appellation breakdowns, native grape varieties, while
tasting wines specific to the regions.
Italy is one of the most interesting countries for wine, but Italy can be intimidating, as it is vast, regionally specific, with tremendous diversity! This series gives you the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of each region in particular, and the entire country as a whole. This series is led by Diego Meraviglia, Vice President & Director Of Education of North American Sommelier Association, who was born and raised in Northern Piedmont. Diego’s passion, educational technique and
experience gives you a whole new perspective on one of the most beloved wine countries. You will leave this course excited and inspired to learn and taste more!
This month, in the fourth class of the series, we journey to the Abruzzo, Le Marche and Emilia Romagna regions.
Course Schedule (remaining classes): June 12: Abruzzo, Le Marche, Emilia Romagna July 10: Alto Adige & Friuli September 11: Tuscany

The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 Intermediate Certificate
course is intended as vocational training in product knowledge for those employed in the drinks industry but who have little previous knowledge of the broad range of alcoholic beverages available. The qualification is suitable wherever a good level of product knowledge is required to underpin job skills and competencies. The WSET Intermediate Certificate course is also appropriate for those not employed in the drinks industry but who want a serious education in wine, and wish to broaden their knowledge in a structured way. Wine tasting is a part of every class. The WSET recommends that students complete at least 14 hours of personal study outside the classroom hours during their course of study.

What You Absolutely Need To Know About Wine
Tuesday, June 27
Class begins at 7 PM
This class was previously named Absolute Beginning Wine Appreciation, but that title limited the participants to people who knew that didn't know the basics of wine. Truth be told, there is a lot of fundamental information about wine that most people have just skipped over in order to get to the drinking part! So whether an absolute beginner or hardened vet, this class will teach you something you didn't
know or at least were not sure of in the complex, wonderful world of wine.
While based on the information offered in Absolute Beginners, this is a newly structured Power Point type of class presented along with nine great wines to illustrate the information. The most heard comments after this class are usually along the lines of "I've been drinking wine for 15 years, going tasting in Santa Barbara and Napa, etc, and I learned more about wine in the first 20 minutes of this class than I did in all that time!"
Join Wine House Tasting & Seminars Director JB Severin for an entertaining revelation.
